The Energy Advice Centre provides free energy advice for local residents. You can complete an online enquiry above or you can visit us in person on Thursdays between 10am and 1pm at Clarence Centre for Enterprise and Innovation, 126 London Road, Southwark, SE1 0AE. No appointment necessary.
We’ve received many reports that scammers are calling using our name and branding or simply masquerading as “The Energy Advice Centre”. We’d like to let you know that the Energy Advice Centre will only contact you if you reach out first for advice
Scam alert
This privacy notice explains how London South Bank University’s Energy Advice Centre will process your personal data. The Centre is run is by staff and students from LSBU’s School of Engineering, who will have access to your data in order to provide you with advice about your energy usage.

We will process the following personal data to book your appointment and send your recommendations via email.

You will not be subject to decisions made about you solely based on automated processing, including profiling.
Recipients of personal data
LSBU will not share your personal data with any third parties or transfer it outside of the UK. Statistics relating to the performance of the Energy Advice Centre may be shared with Southwark Council, but these will only include anonymised data.
Retention period
We will retain your contact information for up to three months following your appointment, in case you have further questions. After three months we will anonymise your personal data and only retain a record of the appointment(s) and advice given, which we will use for statistical purposes only.

You have a number of rights in relation to the data processed under this privacy notice. Privacy Policy
The advice given to you by the LSBU Energy Advice Centre on how to reduce energy usage at your home is based on information provided by you on your home setup and energy usage. It is based on energy prices and industry best-practice as known at the time. It does not guarantee you will save money on energy costs in the future.
We do not offer financial advice. We cannot advise you on the management of your energy bills – always speak to your energy provider if you are concerned. We cannot advise on the affordability of large-scale home improvements – you should seek independent financial advice before considering a large purchase.
