I am a leading authority on environmental and architectural acoustics. I have written more than 100 scientific papers on architectural acoustics, environmental noise, speech intelligibility, electro-acoustics, sound absorbing materials, metamaterials, urban wind turbines, mathematical modelling, computer simulation, classroom acoustics, and noise exposure.

I have taught at the Institute of Sound and Vibration, and at the Royal Academy of Music. I sit on boards and committees for professional bodies, government ministries, and international bodies. I am currently the acoustic advisor to the Royal Opera House.
